Welding Sandblaster! Genesis Bourgoin
In the welding program, students have access to work hands-on with machinery and tools such as The Magnum sandblaster, one of their newest additions. This machine was generously donated to the St. John Valley Tech Center late in 2017 by Huber Mill in Eastland, ME, offering students a safe and viable way to work on some of their
many projects. Having already been used roughly a dozen times, this self contained unit is sealed securely and sufficiently, reassuring that no harmful debris leaks out while the sand is recycled. “The sandblaster is very useful,” as stated by Kevin Daigle, the instructor for the welding class. He continued on to describe how to use it and the purpose it holds, something that the class is taught while enlisted in this program.
