Future Health Hero’s
Juniors/ Health Occupations. 2018/2019 scholastic year.
Health Occupations is focused on training future health care workers who will assist in taking care of patients in the valley as well as throughout the world. This program trains students with academic as well as hands on practice at many of our area nursing homes. It is there where students work one on one with nurses to improve the health of residents as well as learning that they are entrusted with improving the general lives of community members with disabling chronic conditions and many grandparents.
Health Occupations compete in the State of Maine Skills USA competition as well as the State of Maine HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) competitions. At these completions students demonstrate their skills to earn medals as well as scholarships to schools. If students place first in these completions they also win the ability to represent our State at the National Convention & Competitions. In the picture students washed their hands, dressed in isolation suits, caps, and booties getting ready to go into and isolation area.
