Advanced Technologies

The Advanced Technologies course is designed to prepare students for a career in Information technology whether as an IT professional, digital artist, robotics specialist, or other IT field. As a result this class is divided into several different tracks for students to follow depending on their interests. Each class is therefore divided into three sections.

  • TestOut Pc Pro – All students will complete the Pc Pro course provided by This is a self paced training program which covers the knowledge and skill required to be a Pc Technician. A link to the course outline can be found below.
  • Hands on Skills- Knowing how to do something is one thing; actually being able to do it is another. Students will be given hands on experience by the instructor with the various topics in the PcPro course.
  • Individual Exploration Project- Individual exploration projects allow students to explore areas of personal interest. These projects are self selected and self directed by the student and will require a high level of ¬†discipline and self motivation on the students part. The topic must be approved by the instructor prior to the start of the project. The student must provide the instructor with a brief written explanation of the project and an approximate timeframe. Time frame can vary from a week to an entire quarter trimester depending on the topic. ¬†
    • Computer Technician Prep (students wishing to take their A+ exam will utilize this time to continue their Pc Technician training course)
    • Programming (HTML, Java, Python, C+, Swift, etc)
    • Robotics
    • Computer graphics
    • Video editing
    • Game design
    • Electronics

  • For this program we also have articulation agreements with Central Maine Community College (C.M.C.C.) and Northern Maine Community College (N.M.C.C.)
