Birdhouses for the Maine Allagash Waterway Foundation
It is really great to see students give back to the community. Recently 7th grade students from Madawaska Middle School teamed up with the Building Construction Trades class at the St. John Valley Technology Center to make birdhouses for the Allagash Waterway Wilderness Foundation. The birdhouses will provide shelters to local species such as eastern bluebirds, robins and guard owls. Once completed the birdhouses will be placed around the four-seasons park and Martin brook in Madawaska. Their students will be able to keep track of our winged friends with the coordination of Cornell University’s bird study. These birdhouses will provide homes for our local bird population and help make our area an even more beautiful place.
